Introduction

The Marketing program has been enrolling students since 2014 and is a key undergraduate program at the university. The program is designed to meet the talent demands of local industries and social development in the Beibu Gulf zone, with a focus on economic development. It aims to cultivate applied talents in the field of marketing who are capable of adapting to the changing economic landscape. The program has a duration of four years and grants a bachelor’s degree in management.


Cultivation Objectives

The objective of this program is to cultivate applied, innovative, and entrepreneurial talents who uphold the basic principles of the Communist Party of China, embody socialist core values, possess a sense of social responsibility, public awareness, and an innovative spirit, and are capable of meeting the needs of economic construction in the new era. The program aims to equip students with knowledge, skills, and business awareness in marketing, as well as enhance their confidence in successfully marketing in the new media business world. By studying how enterprises determine target markets, position products, and formulate marketing strategies to meet customer needs, students will develop a solid foundation for entrepreneurship and employment.


Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared to engage in marketing research, marketing planning, sales management, and other marketing-related and management roles in various government agencies, enterprises, and institutions. They will be equipped to work as applied, innovative, and entrepreneurial talents in the field of marketing.


Core Courses

Principles of Management, Accounting, Marketing, Statistics, Financial Management, Market Research and Forecasting, Corporate Governance, Business English.


Characteristics

Relying on the new commercial resources in Guangxi, we strive to deepen the integration of industry and education and establish an applied talent cultivation model with local characteristics.


1. Emphasis is placed on an applied teaching system, guided by the "Strong Capital" policy, to construct a student nurturing system that focuses on developing the core competencies and professional qualities of applied talents, fostering specialized talents.

2. We aim to enhance the quality of innovative teaching by combining practical training courses with theoretical courses. A matched 1+1 model is adopted, ensuring that "theory teaching becomes case-based, practical teaching becomes experimental, and character development becomes a series." We have also established comprehensive and systematic management systems throughout the entire process.

3. We strive to create a platform for the integration of industry and education, deepening cooperation between the university and enterprises. Emphasis is placed on practical learning and real-world application, effectively converting teaching outcomes into economic benefits for companies, and enhancing students' practical skills.


Teaching Staff

The Marketing program has a team of 13 full-time faculty members, which includes 2 professors and other senior-level positions, 5 associate professors and other associate senior-level positions, and 6 lecturers. Out of the faculty members, 12 are dual-role teachers, possessing practical experience in the industry, with 85% of them having firsthand experience in the corporate sector. Additionally, 8 teachers have the ability to mentor student competitions. This experienced teaching team excels in both teaching and practical skills, making it a versatile and highly competent group.


Employment and Innovation

The employment rate of this program has remained above 92% in the past three years. The majority of graduates are engaged in jobs related to marketing planning, marketing promotion, new media marketing, and brand shaping. The main employment locations are concentrated in Guangxi, Guangdong, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and other cities. Graduates enjoy a wide range of employment opportunities and high job quality. Currently, employment channels have been established with several listed or well-known local companies, such as TusHoldings, Vpalm Technology, and Guangxi Hegui Group. A survey was conducted with over 30 local employers, who rated the graduates of this program as excellent in terms of political literacy, work attitude, professional competence, comprehensive qualities, and future development.


Based on the practical needs of Guangxi's economic development and leveraging the resources of new Guangxi-based businesses, this program has established a comprehensive practical teaching system. Starting from the first year, students are progressively trained in professional innovation skills. Various professional innovation and entrepreneurship competitions are also used to encourage students to enhance their professional innovation abilities. In the past three years alone, students from this program have won a total of 76 provincial and ministerial-level awards in the 5th, 6th, and 7th China "Internet+" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, including 7 gold medals. In 2021, they received a national bronze medal as well. Moreover, they have achieved impressive results in other professional disciplines such as the "Zhengda Cup" National College Students' Market Research and Analysis Competition, the "Xuechuang Cup" National College Students' Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Simulation Competition, the National College Students' E-commerce Innovation, Creativity, and Entrepreneurship Challenge, and the "Challenging Cup" Guangxi College Students' Entrepreneurship Plan Competition.
