In accordance with the national requirements to accelerate and expand educational openness and cooperation in the new era, Nanning University has responded to the national "Belt and Road Initiative" and effectively promoted educational actions. The university has established stable cooperative relationships with 38 overseas universities. In recent years, the school has actively encouraged and supported approximately 100 teachers to visit and pursue doctoral degrees at universities in ASEAN countries such as Thailand and Malaysia. Furthermore, it has provided scholarships for 40 outstanding undergraduate students to exchange and study at reputable universities like Universiti Putra Malaysia.


Nowadays, Nanning University is currently establishing cooperative platforms for communication and exchange, such as the Guangxi Key Laboratory of International Join for China-ASEAN Comprehensive Transportation, the China-ASEAN Quality Research and Education Center, and the Nanning (ASEAN) International Science and Technology Cooperation Demonstration Base for Rail Transit. The university has been selected as a cooperative institution for the establishment of the "2020 International Humanistic Exchange and Talent Cultivation Base in the Field of Intelligent Manufacturing". Among them, the Guangxi Key Laboratory of International Join for China-ASEAN Comprehensive Transportation is a provincial and ministerial-level key laboratory led by Nanning University, with the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government taking the lead. It is jointly built by prestigious universities and enterprises. Currently, it is engaged in four provincial and ministerial-level research projects. The laboratory has also collaborated with the Banphai Industrial and Community Education College in Thailand to apply for the establishment of a platform for the transfer of new transportation technologies. It has been approved as an innovative platform by the Department of Science and Technology of the autonomous region. The laboratory has also initiated the construction of a rail transit training center targeting Vietnam, aiming to undertake the training of Vietnamese talents in rail transit-related technologies. The China-ASEAN Quality Engineering Education Base aims to cultivate high-quality engineering talents in ASEAN. In recent years, the base has organized training programs for more than 3,000 personnel from the quality inspection system and enterprises.
