Cultivation Objectives
The Communication Engineering program cultivates high-quality applied talents who uphold the Party's fundamental principles, adapt to the needs of the social market economy, and achieve comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor skills. Students will possess a solid foundation in the basic theories and knowledge of communication networks, computer technology, and electronic science and technology. They will have a strong grasp of the fundamental theories and knowledge in planning, designing, and optimizing mobile communication networks. They will be proficient in the technical aspects of engineering implementation, software and hardware debugging, and maintenance of communication engineering projects. They will also possess the ability to plan, design, and manage projects, maintain systems, optimize networks, and learn and apply new technologies in the field of communication systems. These graduates will be capable of working in various sectors of society, including enterprises, institutions, and government agencies, where they can engage in tasks related to communication network planning, design, network optimization.
Courses
Communication Engineering Drawing and Budgeting, Network Regulation and Optimization, Electromagnetic Field and Electromagnetic Waves, Modern Fiber-optic Communication Systems, Signals and Systems, MCU Application Technology, Modern Switching Technology, 5G Communication Technology, Communication Data Analysis, TCP/IP Networks and so on.
Characteristics
The Communication Engineering program closely aligns with the goal of cultivating applied professionals and explores new models, pathways, and processes for applied talent cultivation. These efforts have effectively promoted the ecological development of the program and enhanced the quality of talent cultivation, resulting in significant characteristic advantages.
1. Prominent ecological characteristics in program development
This program stands out in its ecological development by collaborating with Beijing Huatec Information Technology CO., LTD, utilizing the "industry collaboration in education" mechanism, and implementing the Engineering Education Professional Certification Standards. The program seamlessly integrates professional development with industrial technologies, ensuring high-quality standards in talent cultivation. It leads the "Information and Communication Technology" professional cluster at Nanning University and is recognized as a key program in the region, as well as a top-rated program for cultivation.
2. Clear and effective applied talent cultivation pathway
In the process of talent cultivation, the program implements the "ten shared" pathways for industry and education collaboration. This includes shared program design, shared curriculum development, shared textbook compilation, shared faculty training, shared resources, shared classrooms, shared management, shared quality evaluation, and shared career assistance. This clear and effective pathway for applied talent cultivation demonstrates strong leadership and sets an example for others.
3. The innovative applied talent cultivation process
The program innovates a "dual-threaded" talent cultivation process, which ensures a seamless connection between talent supply and industry demands, resulting in outstanding quality of professional talent.
Teaching Staff
There are 12 professional teachers in the Faculty of Communication Engineering, of which 66.67 % are professional engineers from enterprises. The "mixed" professional teaching team composed of university teachers and engineers from Beijing Huatec provides a strong guarantee for the introduction of new-generation information technology, course development, engineering practice education, and the quality improvement of the cultivation of applied talents.
Chen Jichang, the director of the teaching and research department, is a professor and a master's supervisor at Guangxi University. He is an expert advisor for the Ministry of Education's experimental project on industry-education integration course reform, a member of the National Alliance for Applied Curriculum Construction Lecturer Group, an FDW international certified teaching skills instructor, a distinguished professor at Sichuan Vocational College of Science and Technology, and one of the first mentors in the talent pool of outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship mentors in the autonomous region. He is also a national level 2 entrepreneurship consultant, a teaching supervisor at Nanning University, and a teacher trainer at Nanning University.
In 2021, he received the first prize for teaching achievements in Guangxi. He was awarded the 2020 Teacher Award for Curriculum Reform by the School Planning and Construction Development Center of the Ministry of Education and the National Alliance for Applied Curriculum Construction. His course "Modern Switching Technology" was recognized as a top-class undergraduate course in the autonomous region, and his course "Modern Optical Fiber Communication Systems" was selected as a first prize-winning case study and presentation at the "Applied Curriculum Construction Lecture Hall" organized by the School Planning and Construction Development Center of the Ministry of Education. In 2021, his MOOC course "TCP/IP Network" was listed on the "Good Course Recommendation" list of Tsinghua University's online MOOC platform. The course resources for "Modern Switching Technology" that he led the construction of has been recognized as "demonstration teaching materials" by Chaoxing Learning Passage.
He has been invited by the School Planning and Construction Development Center of the Ministry of Education to deliver specialized reports on professional development and curriculum reform at the "Second Symposium on University Transformation and Curriculum Reform" and the "8th International Forum on the Development Strategy of Industry-Education Integration – Online Exhibition of the Four-in-One Program". He has also been invited by universities both within and outside the region, including Hainan Vocational University of Science and Technology, Yunnan University of Business Management, Guilin University, and Chongzuo Preschool Education College, to provide guidance on applied curriculum construction.
