The 2025 China College Students' Engineering Practice and Innovation Competence Contest (abbreviated as "Engineering Innovation Contest") is a national-level science and technology innovation practice competition for college students hosted by the Teaching Steering Committee for Engineering Training under the Ministry of Education. With the theme of "Fostering New Qualities through Cross-disciplinary Engineering Innovation and Taking on the Responsibility for Building a Strong Nation through Moral Cultivation," this year's contest serves the national strategies of innovation-driven development and building a manufacturing powerhouse.

The competition features three major tracks: New Energy Vehicles, "Intelligence+", and Virtual Simulation, encompassing 11 competition categories such as Solar-Powered Electric Vehicles, Thermoelectric Difference Electric Vehicles, Intelligent Logistics Handling, Intelligent Waste Sorting, Intelligent Rescue, Aircraft Design Simulation, Intelligent Connected Vehicle Design, Digitalization of Engineering Scenarios, and Enterprise Operation Simulation. These categories cover the comprehensive application of knowledge from multiple disciplines including new energy, computer science, and artificial intelligence. This year's contest attracted participation from 771 universities across 23 provinces, 5 autonomous regions, 4 municipalities directly under the central government, and 2 special administrative regions in China. A total of 25,950 teams were formed, involving 125,901 teachers and students (including students and supervisors).

The national finals of the 2025 Engineering Innovation Contest were jointly hosted by Dalian University of Technology, Dalian Polytechnic University, and Dalian Jiaotong University, and took place in Dalian City, Liaoning Province, from August 5th to August 10th. Leveraging its solid foundation in practical teaching and accumulated preparation experience, the College of Intelligent Manufacturing at Nanning University successfully had 7 teams advance to the national finals. During the preparation period, three supervisors—Liang Chengquan, Liu Xingguo, and Lv Deshen—led the teams throughout the entire process. Together with the students, they dedicated their spare time to delving deep into the projects, spending over 10 months refining technologies and tackling challenges, transforming classroom knowledge into practical innovation achievements. Ultimately, the faculty and students from the college stood out in the national competition, securing 1 special national grand prize (ranking third nationally), 4 first national prizes, and 2 second national prizes.

The outstanding results achieved in this contest are not only a testament to the hard work of the participating students but also a fruitful outcome of the College of Intelligent Manufacturing's long-standing emphasis on practical teaching and encouragement of innovation and creativity. The college will continue to dedicate itself to cultivating students' innovative and practical abilities, looking forward to seeing its students continuously hone their skills, shine brightly, and reap growth and glory in future competitions!
