On the morning of July 4, the departure ceremony of Nanning University delegation for the 14th Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Students’ Sports Games was solemnly held in Lecture Hall D104 at Nangui Valley. Over 100 participants attended the ceremony, including Vice President Wang Ningzhang, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the College of Education Huang Lijun, Deputy Deans Huang Yu and Gu Chenguang, Director of the Physical Education Teaching Research Office Tang Yu, along with all the coaches and athletes of the university’s sports teams.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Deputy Dean Gu Chenguang delivered a motivational speech. He gave a detailed introduction to the composition of the Nanning University delegation, the range of sports events, and the scale of participation. He encouraged all athletes, saying,
“You are the inheritors of Nanning University’s sports spirit and the young generation who write the brilliance of this new era. Standing on the stage of the Guangxi Students’ Sports Games, I hope you will shine like unsheathed swords. Every start, jump, and strike is a tribute to your dreams and the loudest echo of youthful strength!”
Deputy Dean Gu’s powerful words provided clear direction for the athletes’ journey and ignited their determination to strive for excellence.
Later, Vice President Wang Ningzhang delivered an inspiring address. On behalf of the university, he extended his highest respect and warmest regards to all coaches and athletes who had trained hard and prepared diligently for the competition. He shared three heartfelt messages with the delegation members:
First, carry forward the Nanning University spirit of “daring to be the first and pursuing excellence.” Compete with courage and determination, and demonstrate both skill and character.
Second, uphold the sportsmanship of “friendship first, competition second,” and show the fine qualities of Nanning University students.
Third, ensure safety and discipline, compete scientifically, follow instructions, and return safely with honor.
Vice President Wang concluded with his sincere wishes:
“May our athletes soar like eagles in the bright skies of Guangxi—spread your wings, challenge the heights, and return in glory!”
His speech was filled with warmth and encouragement, instilling confidence and motivation in all participants.
The ceremony concluded with enthusiastic applause from all coaches and athletes. This applause embodied their heartfelt response to the university’s expectations and reflected their firm belief in achieving outstanding results and bringing glory to their alma mater. The university will make every effort to provide full logistical support.
