To enrich the campus cultural life of faculty and staff, enhance their physical fitness, and strengthen team cohesion, the Five-a-Side Football Tournament, part of the 2025 Nanning University “Bu Gu Cultural and Sports Festival”, kicked off on April 22. Faculty teams from 12 schools, including the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, School of Transportation, and School of Civil and Architectural Engineering, gathered on the green field to build friendships, foster camaraderie and teamwork under the theme of “Healthy Campus, Unified Spirit.”

The tournament followed a group round-robin and knockout format. The twelve teams were divided into four groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the knockout stage. On the field, faculty members shed their usual image of rigor in the classroom and displayed an energetic and uplifting spirit of Nanning University’s teaching community.

The “Bu Gu Cultural and Sports Festival” is an important initiative by Nanning University to promote the educational philosophy of “Health First”. It aims to enhance faculty members’ physical and mental well-being while fostering a positive and dynamic atmosphere on campus through a diverse range of cultural and sports activities. As one of the festival’s highlights, the five-a-side football tournament provides not only a platform for relaxation and physical activity but also an opportunity to strengthen teamwork, a sense of honor, and belonging among staff members.

Ling Haimei, Vice Chair of the Nanning University Trade Union, stated that the university would continue to expand and enrich the “Bu Gu Cultural and Sports Festival” by introducing more diverse sports and cultural activities in an effort to boost enthusiasm and participation among the faculty and staff and energize campus sports and cultural life.
