To promote the enhancement of teaching and research capabilities, foster academic development among faculty members, elevate students' international literacy, improve language proficiency and cross-cultural communication skills, and gain access to the latest research findings and educational philosophies, the College of Intelligent Manufacturing invited Dr. Professor Saichol Jinjo from Dhonburi Rajabhat University, Thailand, to deliver an academic lecture at Nanning University on October 23rd. The lecture, titled "Innovative Approaches to Active Learning Management and Process Planning," was held in the Fuwenyuan E104 Lecture Hall. Nearly 400 faculty members and students from the university attended the lecture, which was hosted by Professor Huang Shiling, Associate Dean of the College of Intelligent Manufacturing.

Professor Saichol Jinjo elaborated on the lecture topic by incorporating the Design Thinking methodology proposed by the Stanford University Design School. The core process of Design Thinking consists of five stages: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. This approach enables the resolution of complex problems through a systematic process starting with empathy, followed by iterative verification to ultimately achieve a solution. The lecture also delved into the understanding of innovative methods, proposing structured approaches to solve complex problems and break through conventional thinking patterns, based on a systematic theoretical framework guiding innovative practices.

Additionally, Professor Saichol Jinjo shared his academic growth experiences, offering insights into balancing research and personal life, and provided specific advice on project applications, paper writing, and publication. He emphasized that university faculty should integrate research into their daily lives, allocate work and rest time reasonably, and enhance research efficiency.

This academic lecture provided faculty members and students with a fresh perspective on innovative design research, clear research pathways, and practical methodologies. It deepened their understanding of innovation within the context of the national innovation-driven development strategy and enhanced their research awareness and practical capabilities, playing a significant role in promoting the quality and efficiency improvement of research at the college level.
