Delegation from Hanoi University of Industry Visits University of Nanning to Deepen China-ASEAN Educational Collaboration

A delegation from the School of Economics at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) visited the University of Nanning on September 18, marking a significant step in strengthening educational cooperation between China and ASEAN nations and advancing collaborative efforts in digital economy talent development and scientific research innovation. The delegation was led by Prof. Nguyễn Thị Hồng Nga, Dean of the School of Economics at Hanoi University of Industry, and comprised three members. They were received by Prof. Qin Jianwen, Dean of the College of Digital Economics at the Nanning University , who accompanied the guests on a campus tour. The delegation visited key facilities including the Fuwen Art Creation and Aesthetic Education Center, the Guangxi China-ASEAN Comprehensive Transportation International Joint Key Laboratory, and the Huawei-Nanning Modern Industry School.


A thematic symposium was subsequently convened in Meeting Room 1011 of the Liberal Arts Building. The Vietnamese delegation included Dean Nguyễn Thị Hồng Nga, Department Chair Bùi Thị Thu Loan of the Finance Department, and Department Chair Đỗ Hải Hưng of the Management Department. They were welcomed by Nanning University representatives including Dean Qin Jianwen, Director Qin Fengcai of Office of Development Planning and Cooperation and Exchange, Prof. Guan Weili (Secretary of the Party General Branch of the College of Digital Economics), Deputy Dean Yuan Jiangtian, and other faculty members. The session was chaired by Deputy Dean Cao Huibing of the College of Digital Economics.


Following mutual introductions, promotional videos from both institutions showcased their distinctive achievements in disciplinary development, talent cultivation, research innovation, and international cooperation. In his welcome address, Prof. Qin Jianwen emphasized that the School of Digital Economy has built an integrated "government-industry-university-research-application" ecosystem, leveraging the China-ASEAN digital economy industrial landscape. He expressed strong expectation for deepened collaboration with Hanoi University of Industry in talent development and joint research initiatives.Dean Nguyễn Thị Hồng Nga acknowledged Vietnam's ongoing acceleration of its digital transformation and conveyed her institution's interest in learning from China's experience. She highlighted potential collaboration through joint training programs and shared platform development to enhance the quality of talent cultivation.


Discussions centered on advancing the "University of Nanning – Hanoi University of Industry Bachelor-Master Joint Program", with both sides clarifying specific mechanisms for credit transfer, faculty exchanges, and student mobility. The program is designed to cultivate high-quality digital economy talents for Chinese and Vietnamese enterprises through joint master's education. A preliminary consensus was also reached on establishing a "China-Vietnam Digital Economy International Joint Research Platform", with planned collaborative research in cross-border e-commerce data analysis and digital trade regulations.


In her concluding remarks, Prof. Guan Weili underscored that the collaboration represents a concrete practice by both universities in serving the Belt and Road Initiative. She committed the school's full support to ensure project implementation and to provide sustained talent and intellectual support for China-Vietnam digital economy cooperation. The symposium concluded with an agreement exchange ceremony.


This visit has established a robust channel for in-depth collaboration between the two universities, further promoting China-ASEAN educational cooperation into deeper and broader dimensions, and laying a solid foundation for regional digital economy synergy.
