To deepen China-Thailand economic and trade cooperation and explore new pathways for cross-border e-commerce development, Jiang Lijun, Deputy Dean of the Business School, and Li Wenqing, General Manager of Guangxi Dream Island Fengrunjia Supermarket, were invited to Chiang Mai, Thailand from July 25-27, 2025. They participated in the "China-Thailand Cross-border E-commerce Cooperation Seminar" and business matching events jointly organized by the Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai Department of Commerce, and Chiang Mai University. The seminar brought together over 150 participants, including government officials, scholars, and business representatives from China’s Guangxi and Hainan provinces as well as Chiang Mai, to discuss new approaches for China-Thailand cross-border e-commerce collaboration.

During the morning session on July 25, Chinese and Thai scholars and entrepreneurs engaged in in-depth exchanges on cross-border e-commerce theories and practices. Li Wenqing was invited to participate in the Sino-Thai Entrepreneur Dialogue, where she shared Fengrunjia Supermarket’s achievements in organizing Thai product exhibitions, analyzed the demand characteristics of Guangxi consumers for Thai goods, and outlined future cooperation directions. She emphasized the goal of optimizing supply chains and enhancing the efficiency of high-quality commodity circulation between China and Thailand through university-enterprise collaborative initiatives.

Li Wenqing participated in the Dialogue
From the afternoon of July 25 to July 26, Jiang Lijun and Li Wenqing participated in Thailand-focused business matching events, conducting face-to-face discussions with over 50 Thai enterprises. Both sides provided optimization suggestions on product features, packaging design, and pricing strategies based on Chinese market demands, while gaining insights into Thai export qualifications and supply chain conditions to lay the groundwork for future collaboration.

Communicate with Thai enterprises about products
On the morning of July 27, the delegation visited the China Intelligence Centre (CIC) of Chiang Mai University and attended a cooperation meeting. The meeting was attended by Dr. Danaitun Pongpatcharatorntep, Director of CIC and Associate Dean of College of Arts Media and Technology at Chiang Mai University, along with leaders from Hainan Dehang Group and other experts. The discussion centered on full-chain collaboration in cross-border e-commerce, covering front-end market research, midstream cross-border logistics, and end-sales networks. Participants explored how university-enterprise synergy could enhance supply chain efficiency and deepen China-Thailand economic and trade cooperation.

This exchange not only deepened the cooperative ties between Nanning University and Chiang Mai University but also injected new impetus into China-Thailand cross-border e-commerce and supply chain development. Moving forward, both sides will continue to leverage university-enterprise collaboration advantages, integrate resources, share expertise, and elevate China-Thailand economic and trade cooperation to new levels, contributing more significantly to regional economic prosperity.
