Marking the 75th anniversary of China-Vietnam diplomatic relations and the "China-Vietnam People-to-People Exchange Year," the opening ceremony of the "2025 Chinese Zhuang Cultural and Technological Innovation Experience Tour"—jointly organized by Nanning University and Hanoi University of Industry was held on March 24 at Room 202 of the Student Activity Center on Nanning University’s campus. Attendees included Gong Ji, Vice President of Nanning University; Qin Fengcai, Director of Office of Development Planning and Cooperation and Exchange; Wu Jie, Dean of College of ASEAN Studies; and a delegation from Hanoi University of Industry comprising TRUONG THANH HANG and NGO THI THANH; and 20 student representatives. The ceremony was moderated by Li Junyi, Deputy Director of the Development Planning and Cooperation and Exchange, and Deputy Dean of College of ASEAN Studies.
Deepening Cooperation, Forging Friendship
In her welcome address, Director Qin Fengcai reviewed the collaborative journey between the two institutions since 2024, highlighting the establishment of the Neighbor Partners Alliance Among UNN-ASEAN Universities—a platform co-founded by Nanning University and ASEAN universities on June 21, 2024—which elevated partnerships in talent cultivation, faculty exchanges, and research cooperation. She emphasized that this experience program not only embodies the practical implementation of bilateral cooperation but also serves as a vivid chapter for Chinese and Vietnamese youth to enhance mutual understanding and solidify friendship.
Dean Wu Jie then outlined the program’s structure, which features three thematic modules: "Zhuang Cultural Heritage Experience," "Technological Innovation Workshops," and "Urban Civilization Exploration." These modules aim to immerse Vietnamese participants in the unique charm of Zhuang culture, the regional identity of Nanning, and the practical achievements of Nanning University’s engineering education through hands-on workshops.
Collaborative Vision for the Future
In her remarks, Ms. TRUONG THANH HANG of Hanoi University of Industry expressed gratitude to Nanning University and anticipated deeper exchanges through this program. She characterized the partnership as both a model for China-Vietnam educational cooperation and a testament to the enduring friendship between the two nations.
Vice President Gong Ji stressed the significance of 2025 as the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the "People-to-People Exchange Year." He proposed two strategic initiatives: first, exploring a "Chinese Language + Vocational Skills" applied undergraduate talent model; and second, expanding joint research in smart manufacturing, new energy vehicles, and rail transit, leveraging Nanning University’s key laboratories and industry-integrated colleges. Vice President Gong Ji subsequently declared the program officially inaugurated.
Ceremony Concludes, Journey Begins
The event concluded with a gift exchange between the institutions and the distribution of welcome packages to participants. This program provides a platform for face-to-face dialogue between students and faculty, injecting fresh vitality into China-Vietnam educational and cultural exchanges. Nanning University remains committed to leveraging its strengths to deepen ASEAN educational partnerships, advance the Belt and Road Initiative, and contribute to a new era of China-Vietnam people-to-people connectivity.
