Representatives of Thailand Banphai Industrial and Community Education College Came to Nanning to Participate in Activities Related to China-ASEAN Expo and Visited Nanning University

From September 24th to 28th, the 21st China-ASEAN Expo themed “UPHOLDING AMITY, SINCERITY, MUTUAL BENEFIT AND INCLUSIVENESS FOR COMMON DEVELOPMENT, CREATING A DIAMOND CROWN NEW FUTURE” was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Nanning University took this opportunity to invite the representatives of Thailand Banpai Industrial Community Education College (BPIC) to participate in related activities and visit Nanning University(UNN). During the period, two cooperation agreements were signed by both sides.


BPIC is the chairman unit of the Rail Transit Vocational Education Alliance of the Ministry of Education of Thailand, leading and organizing the joint development of rail transit personnel training, scientific and technological innovation and exchange, achievement transformation and application. UNN has been cooperating and exchanging with BPIC for 11 years. Both sides have concluded a deep friendship through in-depth cooperation in the fields of talent cultivation, industry-academia-research cooperation, and mutual visits of teachers and students. Teachers and research teams from both sides visited each other up to 9 times, which boosted research cooperation and rapid development of talent exchange


On September 23, at The Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer And Collaborative Innovation 2024 , Li Dongxue, President of UNN, and Bunjong Polkhun, Director of BPIC, jointly signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation on behalf of both sides. The MOU will rely on Guangxi Key Laboratory of International Join for China-ASEAN Comprehensive Transportation, give full play to the role of Guangxi Transportation New Technology Transfer Thailand Sub-center constructed at BPIC in the cultivation of talents in rail transportation and new energy automobiles, focus on the development needs of key industries in the ASEAN region, and continue to push forward the industry-academia-research cooperation in vocational education for ASEAN.


On September 24, Bunjong Polkhun, Director of BPIC, and other representatives arrived at UNN for a visit and exchange. Both sides held a symposium on academic exchanges and international science and technology cooperation projects in the E201 conference room of South Silicon Valley, UNN. At the meeting, Prof. Junyar Pabu, consultant of BPIC, explained the intention of the visit. Fan Yi, Dean of College of Traffic and Transportation, UNN introduced the basic situation of the college. And Wen Xuguang, Director of Guangxi Key Laboratory of International Join for China-ASEAN Comprehensive Transportation introduced the basic situation of the laboratory.


On September 25, at the signing ceremony of 2024 Nanning-Hanoi Economic Corridor and “Belt and Road” Nanning Frendship Cities Exchange Conference, Li Dongxue, President of UNN, and Bunjong Polkhun, Director of BPIC, jointly signed the Cooperation Agreement for Cultivation of International Students Majoring in Railway Transportation and New Energy Vehicle on behalf of both sides. The cooperation will give full play to the role of collaborative education among all parties, including cross-border enterprises in Guangxi, Nanning University and local vocational schools in ASEAN countries. It will make use of international educational resources sharing, implement curriculum exchange, credit mutual recognition, and show “Chinese standards”.


During the visit and exchange, foreign guests from Thailand and some faculty representatives of UNN also attended The 6th ASEAN Plus 3 (10+3) Young Scientists Forum, The Second Forum on China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Cooperation, as well as Exhibition on Advanced Technologies of the 21st China-ASEAN Expo. The visit of the representatives of BPIC to Nanning has come to a successful end. Through visit and exchange, UNN and BPIC have further deepened mutual understanding and enhanced mutual trust. Both sides will carry out comprehensive and in-depth cooperation in various fields such as teaching, scientific research and talent cultivation, which will bring driving force for each other’s development.
