Introduction

Transportation is a characteristic undergraduate program of the Guangxi Higher Education Excellence Plan identified by the Guangxi Department of Education, and the discipline of Transportation Planning and Management is a key discipline of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. This program started to enroll in 2013, with certain history and characteristics of professional schooling, based on Nanning, facing Guangxi, radiating the Pan-Beibu Gulf zone, serving the local economic and social development and industrial development, and serving ASEAN and the construction of "the Belt and Road". The directions of the program are divided into road transport direction and rail traffic direction.

Teaching Staff

At present, there are 15 full-time teachers, all of them come from famous universities in China, such as Southwest Jiaotong University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Tongji University, Chang'an University, University of Science and Technology of China, etc. Among them, Professor Jin Weidong is the second-grade teacher and doctoral supervisor. Among them, Professor Jin Weidong is a second-class teacher, a doctoral supervisor, and a special expert in Nanning.

Research Platforms

There are five research platforms that our research relies on: The Guangxi Key Laboratory of International Join for China-ASEAN Comprehensive Transportation, The Nanning Rail Transit Talent Hub, The Nanning (ASEAN) Rail Transit International Science and Technology Cooperation Demonstration Base, The Regional Rail Transit Collaborative Education Platform, The Cultural Exchange Talent Training Base for Sino-Foreign Humanities in the Field of Intelligent Manufacturing (China-Thailand Rail Transit Professional Technical Talent Cultivation Base), supported by the Ministry of Education. Meanwhile, leveraging the resources and research capabilities of key national laboratories, such as Southwest Jiaotong University, to effectively carry out talent cultivation programs to support the construction and operation management of railway transportation systems in Guangxi and Thailand. Additionally, taking into account the actual conditions in Guangxi, numerous applied basic research projects and demonstration studies have been conducted in the areas of rail transit construction, equipment manufacturing, operation and maintenance, safety testing, and big data platform construction.

Research Team

The Guangxi Key Laboratory of International Join for China-ASEAN Comprehensive Transportation is the only regional key laboratory in Guangxi that focuses on rail transit. It involves the participation of renowned domestic and international universities and enterprises in the field of transportation. The laboratory integrates multiple disciplines and possesses strong research capabilities and experience in the application and promotion of technology. It provides talent and technical support for the research, development, and promotion of this project, particularly in the areas of big data analysis, modeling, and algorithms. In accordance with the "14th Five-Year Plan and 2035 Vision Goals for National and Economic Social Development of Nanning", the construction of Nanning University as an aspirational goal has provided new impetus for the development of the research team, promoting its growth and development.

Experimental Platform

Road transport direction includes a transport planning laboratory, traffic optimization design laboratory, and so on. Railway traffic direction: jointly built by Railway Traffic Operation and Control Experimental Training Centre, Nanning Railway Traffic Group Limited Liability Company, and Jiaotong Control Science and Technology Joint Stock Company, including Train Driving and Manoeuvring Laboratory, Train Dispatching Laboratory, Signal Basic Laboratory, and Ticketing System Experimental Platform.

Professional Foundation

Nanning University became the first university in Nanjing to offer a rail transit program in 2012, and the direction of rail transit is a feature of the current transport undergraduate program. At the same time, the transportation program is the key construction program of the master's degree point, the first-class undergraduate program of the autonomous region and the characteristic program of the autonomous region, and the discipline of transportation planning and management is the key discipline of Guangxi.

Cooperation Units

Nanning University has provided urban rail transit teacher training for 18 universities and colleges in Thailand and received 53 educational visiting groups from Thailand, Malaysia, and other countries and regions. The university signed the strategic cooperation agreement with four universities in Thailand and Malaysia, and also signed the strategic cooperation agreement with domestic universities and colleges, such as Southwest Jiaotong University, Chang'an University, Tongji University, Southwest University of Science and Technology, etc. The university cooperated with Guangxi Jiaozhong Zhiwei Technology Development Co., Ltd. to build the "Transportation Infrastructure Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Research Centre".
