Introduction
The Economics and Finance program at Nanning University has been admitting students since September 2016. It is a supportive program under the "Cultural Industry and Urban Management Major Cluster". The program has a duration of four years and awards a bachelor’s degree in economics. In December 2020, the program successfully passed the undergraduate program assessment conducted by the Education Department of Guangxi.
Cultivation Objectives
The Economics and Finance program aims to cultivate students who uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China, adhere to the socialist system, and establish the correct worldview, outlook on life, and values. They are expected to possess a strong belief in socialist ideals, abide by laws and regulations, and promote comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, artistry, and labor skills. Students should possess humanistic and social science literacy, and social responsibility, and exhibit good moral character and behavior. They are encouraged to pursue virtue, honesty, and trustworthiness, show love for the collective, and care for society. The program equips students with a systematic grasp of the basic theories and methods in economics, finance, mathematics, and computer science, and develops their abilities in financial analysis, financial operations, and management of financial enterprises. Graduates will be qualified for jobs in banks, securities, insurance, investment trust companies, and other enterprises and institutions, engaging in financial marketing, investment and financing analysis, and other related work. They will have a broad international perspective, skills in information technology application, strong practical abilities, and an innovative spirit. The program aims to cultivate highly qualified applied talents.

Characteristics
1. Deepen the integration of industry, education, and finance in Guangxi's commercial and financial enterprises. Collaborate with Guangxi’s financial enterprises such as Sealand Securities Co., Ltd. and GUANGXI BEIBU GULF BANK CO., LTD. to develop talent cultivation programs. Based on the industry and enterprises' demand for economic and financial professionals, establish a curriculum system that focuses on the core competencies required by the market through closely related course clusters. This approach aims to cultivate students with the essential skills demanded by the market.
2. To meet the practical requirements of positions in the finance industry, we have established financial practical projects that run throughout the entire process of talent cultivation. These projects provide numerous opportunities for students to participate in financial practice and internships with external cooperative enterprises.
3. We emphasize the cultivation of students' comprehensive qualities by organizing their participation in professional qualification exams, various subject competitions, and innovation and entrepreneurship practices. This approach aims to promote personal development and improve professional abilities.
Employment
The main employment destinations for graduates include banking institutions such as
BANK OF LIUZHOU, GUILINBANK, Bank of Communications, and POSTAL SAVINGS BANK OF CHINA. Graduates are primarily engaged in counter-settlement, financial marketing, and wealth management consulting. They also find employment in non-banking financial institutions such as Sealand Securities Co, Ltd., Everbright Securities Co, Ltd., Guohai Liangshi Futures, the Bank of China's Southeast Asian Business Operations Center, and PING AN INSURANCE (GROUP) COMPANY OF CHINA. In these institutions, graduates typically work in financial marketing, investment and financing analysis, and risk management. Additionally, graduates have opportunities in government departments, public institutions, real estate enterprises, and investment and financing companies, where they are primarily involved in economic analysis, investment and financing analysis, and management work.
