On December 14, the 2nd China–ASEAN (Nanning) Film and Music Festival kicked off passionately at Nanning University, where students and performing musicians gathered for a vibrant winter rendezvous and a shared musical feast.

As one of the featured events of the 8th China–ASEAN Film Screening Series, the festival has been hosted by Nanning University for two consecutive years. Centered on film culture, this year’s event once again showcased a diverse selection of performances, including classic movie soundtracks, popular hits, original local compositions, and songs from ASEAN countries. The stage came alive with an eclectic blend of vocal and dance performances, pop, rap, and rock music, offering students a colorful and immersive cinematic music experience.

Student bands from Nanning University—including The Numb, MIYA, Fifth Degree, TACE, and Frozen Soil—took turns performing, igniting the audience with their passionate renditions and driving the atmosphere to repeated climaxes. Despite the chilly winter night, the students’ enthusiasm burned brightly, and the joyous songs of winter echoed throughout the campus.

By hosting this grand musical event, Nanning University and Nanning Dadi Feige Cultural Industry Group aim to strengthen the brand of the China–ASEAN (Nanning) Cultural Month and foster artistic exchange between China and ASEAN countries. The festival reflects the university’s active role in supporting Nanning’s cultural development. Meanwhile, Nanning University seeks to use the festival as a platform to invigorate its aesthetic education programs, enhance its reputation and influence, and further empower the university’s pursuit of high-quality, connotative development across its various endeavors.
