On December 13, a delegation of seven people including representatives of the 21st Century South Korea-China Exchange Association, Dongduk Women’s University and the China Association for Non-government Education Visited Nanning University(UNN). Gong Ji, vice president of UNN, accompanied the delegation to visit Arts Corridor, Intelligent Manufacturing Research and Innovation Center, Guangxi Key Laboratory of International Join for China-ASEAN Comprehensive Transportation, College of Food and Quality Engineering. After the visit, both sides held a discussion meeting in Conference Room 400 of Administrative Building. The discussion meeting was chaired by Vice President Gong Ji.
Li Dongxue, President of UNN, delivered a welcome speech to the guests. He said that the arrival of the delegation brought warmth to Nanning’s cold winter. Linked by mountains and rivers, China and Sounth Korea enjoy cultural affinity. UNN has always been committed to promoting international education. The visit of the representatives from Dongduk Women’s University is an important step for UNN in international exchanges with South Korea. UNN and Dongduk Women’s University have not cooperated with each other before. It is hoped that through this meeting, both sides will be able to closely connect and carry out multi-level and multi-field cooperation.
Kim Han-kyu, President of the 21st Century South Korea-China Exchange Association, Former Minister of General Affairs Office(currently Ministry of the Interior and Safety) and Chief of Kim Young-sam Presidential Party Secretary’s Office. He expressed his gratitude for the invitation from President Li Dongxue and UNN’s reception, and introduced the background of the establishment of the 21st Century South Korea-China Exchange Association. The association and President Kim Han-kyu himself have always been committed to promoting high-level exchanges and communications in various fields between South Korea and China. They actively promote cooperation in higher education between China and South Korea, build bridges for educational cooperation between the two countries, and promote friendly development.
Li Weihuan, Deputy Secretary General of the China Association for Non-government Education(CANGE), pointed out in his speech that China and South Korea have great potential for cooperation in the field of education. Both countries have similar cultural backgrounds and educational exchanges can further promote mutual understanding and friendship. Cooperation in economy, culture and other fields of China and South Korea was becoming increasingly close. CANGE would fully support the cooperation between the 21st Century South Korea-China Exchange Association and universities in Guangxi, and help promote cooperation and exchanges between UNN and Dongduk Women’s University.
Cho Won-young, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dongduk Women’s University, introduced the situation of Dongduk Women’s University and said that both universities have a high degree of compatibility in art and design professional settings. He looked forward to the two universities jointly developing long-term and short-term cooperation in the future to promote friendly exchanges and mutual learning.
At the meeting, representatives from both universities played promotional videos of UNN and Dongduk Women’s University, showing their respective history, philosophy, disciplinary advantages and international development achievements. Both sides exchanged views on cooperation in student exchange, short-term training, teacher training, scientific research projects and other aspects. Participants said they would further strengthen communication to promote cultural exchanges among teachers and students in educational cooperation.
After the meeting, Li Dongxue presented souvenirs to Han-kyu, Cho Won-young, and Li Weihuan, and expressed his sincere gratitude and best wishes for this exchange. UNN would take this opportunity to strengthen cooperation with South Korean universities, promote educational and cultural exchanges between Chinese and South Korean universities, and achieve coordinated development.
