On the afternoon of April 9, the Guangxi Double Third Carnival was held at Nanning University. Teachers and students gathered at the Bugu Lake to taste ethnic food, experience ethnic skills, compete in ethnic sports, and sing and dance together.

The Carnival was divided into three parts. The first is the cultural performance. Huang Yushan, the teacher of the College of Education played the role of "Liu Sanjie" riding on a bamboo raft, singing "Folk Songs are Like River in Spring Days" in the center of Bugu Lake. After that, more than two hundred performers of different ages, regions, and nationalities from different colleges sang in unison the familiar ethnic songs of Guangxi. At the end of the performance, the audience waved the national flag in their hands and sang the chorus of "Ode to the Motherland" to express their wishes for the prosperity of the great motherland, which pushed the venue to the climax of the event.

The second part was cultural lectures. In the lecture hall of the library, more than 500 teachers and students listened to the theme report of "Communication and Intermingling: The Historical Picture of Guangxi Ethnic Cultures Melting into Chinese Culture" by Prof. Li Fuqiang, Director of the Ethnic Research Center of Guangxi University for Nationalities and Chairman of Guangxi Folk Literature and Artists Association. Teachers from the College of Marxism Studies such as Wei Shengqiang, introduced the traditional cultures of ethnic minority regions to students.

The third part of the carnival was the Folk Culture Block. Teachers and students were dressed in Guangxi ethnic minority costumes. The cultural block was set up with booths for traditional folk art experiences and traditional food tasting. On-site activities included trying on ethnic costumes, experiencing and displaying handicrafts such as embroidery balls, Zhuang brocade, and paper-cutting, and tasting Zhuang specialties such as moxa leaf poi, green dumplings, and colored eggs. Meanwhile, traditional sports activities of Guangxi ethnic minorities were carried out in full swing in the touring park, with many activities such as bamboo pole dance and colorful embroidery balls, which attracted teachers and students, to feel the joy and warmth of the festival together.

The carnival has received attention and reports from several mainstream media, including Guangxi Daily, Guangxi Radio and Television Station, Nanning Daily, Zhejiang Daily, and so on.
